Free Will<br>
Three theories were identified:<br>
1. Libertarianism<br>
    There are some free acts or we possess free will but it is limited to logically and physically possible acts.  We can decide whether or not to give in to certain desires.<br>
2. (hard) determinism<br>
    There are no free acts (free will). Our socialization and chemical compositions make it so things can only turn out one way. Our choices come from choosing our strongest desires, and our desires come from our past experiences (socialization) and genes.<br>

Both libertarianism and determinism share the same definition of free will, which is: "the power to have done otherwise under identical circumstances".<br>
<br>
3. Compatibilism (soft determinism)<br>
    Redefines free will as doing what you want.  States that in some cases we do have free will.  More on compatibilism thursday.<br>
