Dualism

Descartes: the way we think and speak about mind and body are totally different. So they are different substances.

Cartesian Interactionism
Brain is an interface between mind and body.

(An argument to prove animals have souls)

1)Animals think & reason thinking and reasoning requires a soul, animals have souls.

(An argument to prove animals DON'T have souls)

1) Animals think and reason and don't have souls. Thinking and reasoning don't require souls.

We can't argue we have souls on the basis of thinking and reasoning.

The brain effects the mind but not the reverse. Conscience is the byproduct of material processes of the brain.
Conscience is real and different from matter but entirely determined by material processes.

How can an immaterial substance(mind) effect a material one? It doesn't.
Firing of neutrons electrical storms in brain---------> what feels like to be in pain.

The process only goes one way. Brain activity first then conscience experience.

(PARALLELISM---OCCASIONALISM)
The mental/physical are two separate processes. which run side by side but never actually interact. They seem too because
they are sinked up.
