In this story Esau is portrayed as a big dumb burly guy while Jacob is portrayed as the smart man.
Esau sells his birth right to Jacob. Esau is hungry and thinks that his birth right is nothing in comparison to his hunger( he must of thought that his brother was joking).Later, Jacob also steals his fathers blessing from him so he may become the first patriarch..(Isaac is the father to both of the boys)Jacob is also the favorite of his mother Rebekah, so the plan works.Esau is not fit to rule after all he sold his birth for food?
