M's Attitude toward Women:
-gave 1/2 of property rights compared to men
-gave 1/2 of rights standing in court
-outlawed female infanticide

In comparison to the past M's attitude gave women more than they had. In the past women had no property rights, no say in court cases and practiced infanticide regularly.

Although he helped them M's attitude was sexist in nature. He gave a 4 wife limit to men. ( you had to take care of them well) But M was known to have 11 and 9 on two separate occasions.
In order for a man to divorce a women all he needed to do is say "I divorce you" 3 times in a row. Doing this over email is still in question. He felt women were unable to be as smart or as spiritual as men. His idea of paradise was a pearl 60 miles wide with many hallways leading to women chained on the walls ready for sex.
Today these beliefs whether Muslim or not tend to saturate the culture.

The Quran:(Koran) "The Recitation"
M had visions during seizures and afterward he would recite what these visions were. He had followers act as scribes for him and record what he recited. This was a good thing for M because he was illiterate. Sometimes he would edit these scripts to make sure he was getting his point across properly.
The suras were collected after his death and compiled by a man named Caliph Uthman. At the time there were other versions in circulation and Uthman order them to be burned and they were.(Most likely by scholars under Uthman)
The only order of the Quran is Biggest Sura to smallest sura. The text in it's original form was very unorganized, it had historical inaccuracies and the events were often written in the wrong order chronologically.
The reason for this is because M was illiterate and never read the bible for himself. He was only able to hear it from other people telling him about it. And also his teaching were spoken to his scribes after having seizures(not your typical relaxing environment)

M believed that Jesus was not the son of god, he was not crucified and was not resurrected. M believed that he was only a prophet.
