-Baptism and Communion (The Lord's Supper):
-Sacramental View: ceremon has sprirtual efficacy and has substantial effects.
-Symbolic View: ceremony has only symbolic significance.
-Catholics view is Sacramental View.
-Vatican II: Catholicism becomes more liberal.
-Protestant Reformation:
-people "protested" against the Roman Catholic Church.
-selling of "indulgences"-get out of Hell for 100 gold pieces and complete different religious duties.
-changing or adding to the Bible.
-salvation by good works, not faith alone. This was Luther's biggest problem with the Catholic Church.
-John Calvin and Martin Luther started Protestantism.
