In addition to the Questions posted on the
"readings" page you might discuss the
following questions this week based on
Meditations 3-6

1. What do you think of Descartes
arguments for the existence of God in
Meditations 3, and 5? Do them seem
sound or not?

2. In Meditation 4, Descartes seems to
be arguing that false beliefs can be
traced to a misuse of our free will. Is this
true? Do you think that those who have
false beliefs are always responsible for
them?

3. In Meditation 6, Descartes suggests
that since God is good, knowledge is
possible Does this follow? In other
words, does God's goodness make it
necessary that if we try our best, we'll end
up with (mostly?) true and justified
beliefs?
