I found myself with a pen handy making
simple notations so when I want to
remember something quickly, I can surf
the footnotes. Its easier to read on paper
because of less distractions (in my case
maybe more so than others).

With Descartes writing style, I found its
best read in chucks then retracing with
notes to outline his important points
since often a bulk of his writing is toying
the idea rather than actually justifying it.
All I can say is at least it isn't Sarte.
