I think you are right, Descartes seems to try and find truth by breaking down a belief much like in math class-where there is absolute justification to work from. However, can you really do that in life? There are all kinds of other things to consider that crowd up a persons ideas and beliefs such as environment and feelings, where as in math these things don't exist.
