Descartes seems to equate the mental
with the spiritual. He considers
consciousness to be a substance as real
as material substances, but with its own
set of properties. "Mind" doesn't have
mass, weight, size, or shape like matter
does, but nonetheless is real. We each
know of it's reality simply by reflecting on
our own consciousness.
