I had similar thoughts. Even taking it to numbers. 1 and 2 are names (and figures) that have been given to a perception. We are taught that this thing is an orange. Another orange is set next to it and we begin counting. The first orange is 1 and the second is 2. Then the whole math thing goes into it. But is an orange 1? They are something that we perceive as 1, but are actually made of many molecules.
