In Descartes first meditation he seems to wake one morning with the mind set that everything that he has been taught and everything that he perceive may or may not be the actual truth. It seems that he needs only the hint of doubt in his present opinion to make him go back and reconsider all the has built up to this opinion, and seek a sturdier foundation for his knowledge. Descartes seems to sense that it is an impossible task for him to address all of these issues, but he may be able to doubt all of theses issues if he doubts the basic principles in which is opinions were formed. The question that I have is how is it possible for Descartes to clear all of the bias out of his mind? It seem to me that we as people are a product of our environment and all the we know and have experience makes us what we are and how we think.
