What Hume has to say about cause and effect is very interesting to me. He says that what you can imagine is possible, and you can imagine a cause without its usual effect, so, there is no necessary connection between cause and effect. His explanation for believing in cause and effect is very understandable. Because we see the same thing happening after a certain action, over and over, we assume that it will always be that thing happening after that action. Hume says that it is all in our minds. This can be observed when someone hasn't ever eaten something before, and they use observation to expect a certain taste, or temperature and then are surprised by the opposite.
