It was so refreshing to read something that wasn't all christianity this and that. I expected this article to turn out like that,but it didn't. Instead of saying you should have morals and beliefs because of church doctrine's, which it seemed everyone believed and preached since the dark ages. He said no, think for yourselves and have your own beliefs. find the real truth, don't let the words of people in power sway your thoughts. In my head his words were very full of energy. It was almost like the old movies where a person is wearing the long colorful coat, dressed in the times and spoke with true feeling, emphasizing the full sentences with every syllable. using hand gestures, walking up and down in front of the people, really trying to talk to them. somewhat like gulliver in gullivers travels that came out in the 90's when he was speaking to the court. great movie by the way.
When I read the last few paragraphs my eyes got bigger, i got excited, i almost got up off the couch and started jumping around with reading his words about finding the truth in the aphorism of Coleridge. To not blindly believe in anything without thinking about it(especially with religion)makes me so happy to read. it was saying to me to actually inquire into what people are telling other people to believe and why or what motivation do they have for wanting you to believe what they are saying. give them the knowledge to not be stuck in that little box of ignorance, but to find the real truth, break free of what has been taught from generation to generation and not thought about, but just taken as truth. To not blindly believe what others think. freedom.
I can't wait to read some Milton and Coleridge.
