Theories of Knowledge

I find it hard to believe that "colors, sounds, tastes, in a word all those termed secondary qualities, have certainly no existence without the mind."
If you think about it, if there were no thing with a mind on the earth, it certainly would not be able to be perceived as happening, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't. It is hard to imagine a world with no mind, wondering if they would still exist. I believe they would. If not, how would we know about them in the first place? God just put the ideas in our heads? I think not. We would have had to get the notion of color from somewhere.
