Well, Jim, I agree that in our environment there have been many studies exploring the issue of "nature vs. nurture". And that it is possibly a 50/50 split between those who believe in the nature aspect and those who believe in the nurture aspect. However, I agree with Lisa regarding Locke's theories surrounding the disbelief of the innate nature of human beings. In his time, with little experimental evidence, it seems to me that using the senses and perceptions as a means of explanation into the experiences of people is plausible. And he makes a good argument surrounding how he arrived at his conclusions. They seem more tangible to me than did Descartes...and much easier to read.
