Thank you all for the wonderful examples and observations. I'm wondering if religions remain, for the most part, clustered within a specific area, how do the people within this area contribute? In other words, who benefits? If the majority has the yearning to stay "within the box", then doesn't this created a benefit for that majority to keep everything the same? Do the doctrines within those religions created an environment, whereby, laws and social norms are created in ordinance with those doctrines? When we combine religion and state in this way, it makes perfect sense to me as to why humans are continually in one conflict or another. In relations to DeCartes, how would he view religions that do not observe God as the creator and higher being? Would they then have no truth?
