There is a theory that the Indians of the SW region of the US see colors and patterns in different ways, as reflected in their peculiar art. Those who live in a desert environment, eating what thrives in the desert, and concentrating on desert things have had their sensibilities changed by this. It only makes sense. The iris in a sheep's eye is horizontal, the better with which to view horizontal pasture landscapes. So where does evolution enter into Descartes' ideas?
