I also believe that if you don't conform to the church's ideas, you are seen as immoral or wrong. My in laws are extremely religious, and live by the book. For example, my husband and I got pregnant before we got married and his parents thought we were crazy. Then we got married in Lake Tahoe, and had a beautiful outside wedding. A couple weeks after the weeding, his mom asked me when we were "really" going to get married. It was like they didn't see it as a real wedding because it wasn't in the church. Don't get me wrong, I am very close to my in laws but it's like they have been brain washed by the church. And they get suckered in by the church. The church always calls and asks for money and such. Isn't it just supposed to be about the word of God? Funny how their priest drives a brand new Mersades {sp?}. I wonder what God would say to that...
