I. Adoption and Changes of these Procedures

A. The procedures specified in this manual shall be utilized upon their approval by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the eligible votes cast in the LCC Science Division. Also, changes in this manual shall require a two-thirds (2/3) majority of all eligible votes.
1. For purposes of the above, eligible votes are cast by any science staff member in attendance at the meeting where voting occurs. Proxies are allowed only when the member must be absent due to a SAC approved leave (e.g.: illness, workshop attendance).
2. Members shall cast votes as follows:
a. A contracted staff member shall have one (1) vote.
b. A part-time staff member shall have one-half (1/2) vote until completion of two (2) terms of employment and attendance at two (2) division meetings, after which he/she shall have one (1) vote.

B. Should any of the procedures in this manual be in conflict with the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement, college policy, or the law, those parts of this manual shall be invalid, but all other parts shall remain in effect.
