Briefly state why you chose this topic.

Although this topic probably has no real-world significance whatsoever, as opposed to all the people that are doing topics on important things, like religion and such, I thought it might just be a fun thing to research.

Spend about five minutes listing what you already know (if anything) about your topic. For example,
are you aware of any interesting facts, common
misconceptions, your own assumptions, important people or institutions involved, key schools of
thought, the extent of the problem, current trends, etc.?

There have been public claims starting in the mid 1990's that the moon landings were faked by NASA in order to win the "Race To The Moon." The claims allege that the footage of the landing was shot in the Nevada desert at night, and doctored so as to be believeable to the media.

Now spend at least fifteen minutes brainstorming a list of questions about your topic you’d love to
learn the answers to. Make this list as long as you can, and
don’t worry whether every question is a good one.

Was the moon landing really faked? Why? How? Why is it that people only have started wondering about this recently? What attempts have been made to prove this? Are there any academic views on this, or all the majority of the supporting views held by anti-government militia types?
