You have a good topic that will be very controversial, and I thought I'd make a point or two about it.

A lot of arguments center around the violence/gore inherent in some video games, and how they are bad for children, but how many parents actively monitor what games their child plays? The videogame industry has a very thorough and extensive rating system, much like movies, but too often is the case that parents ignore or fail to notice the ratings posted and then are surprised at the content contained therein. Also, you might reconsider your argument about the videogames making kids violent, for that won't hold water with many people. It's not so much the content that people are given but how they react to it that is the issue. From parental involvement of the kid's gaming habits to the type of games they are playing for their maturity, the child's understanding of what they are playing is what affects them the most.
