logging/timber management

2. Briefly describe why:Since my husband and I own a logging biz...I am wondering how the logging industry has financially changed in the past 50 years

3. List what your know about this topic already: I know that it used to be that logging was mostly all clearcutting for the sake of high profit....also that the government has to some extent started to regulate where and when and how much timber is harvested from any particular property...I also know that due to some new equipment called a processor/stroker alot of the normal industry jobs are being done away with for costs sake

A.there is the question of why we send our logs over seas to sell when we sometimes buy some from other country's;that has to be a profit issue
B.why does the BLM not manage their timber by controlling for rot like private company's such as Weyerhauser and Willamette industries
C.is the BLM not interested in making some profit
D.how much of a profit do the big companys really make a year
E.What is the rule for when you can or cannot harvest Timber on private land for wildlife reasons.
F.How has the Forrest service profited or not from timber sales
G.Why has Busch decided to release so much land for Clearcutting...
H.Is it for the economy's sake as he claims or is it somehow really benefiting mostly our government.
I.Should the government be allowed to tell you if you can or cant cut a tree on your own privately owned property
J.How do people whom work in this industry feel about the ne technology which allows a machine to do what used to employ 3 or 4 people
