I agree with about the family issue, of spending time with your family, as much as you can, but I will also tell you, that it is my experience that you must have goals, and dreams to keep you going or life is very unfulfilled. I have been in the working field since I got out of high school in 1990, and never actually chose a profession, so that is why I am back in school. {that should answer your question on why I'm in school}.
Once you start working for a living school actually becomes a lot of fun, because it motivates you to learn more and more. Many of the subjects are boring, and yes you may never use them or forget what you have learned, but there is always a purpose for them.
