Q:Discuss why some gays and lesbians would oppose gay marriage. Discuss why many gays and lesbians support gay marriage. Do you support gay marriage? Why or why not?

A: I do support gay marriage/families. I don't necessarily agree with the lifestyle, but I feel that people should be allowed to do what they want to do. I know that I would be upset if someone didn't allow me to marry someone I loved. So I can't see myself telling someone else they couldn't. Regardless of who it is they marry. I actually have stronger feelings about the gay "families" issue. A lot of people think that gays shouldn't be allowed to have children. But, I disagree. I think that any person who is a good parent should be allowed to have a child. There are plenty of married couples who abuse, sexually assault, and do many other terrible things to their children. So if another person is going to be a great parent and they are gay, I think the child would be a lot better off with them. As far as gays supporting or not supporting gay marriage, I think it is purely a personal choice. I am a married woman who does support gay marriage, but that doesn't mean all married women do. Same with gay men/women. Some might think it is their right, and others might not even want to fight that battle. So, I really do think it is a personal choice.
