Yes I agree the media has us or at least our attention, then we are persuaded into thinking what is said is the way something is. Part of what we hear is expected material, and we assume things are going to be a certain way, like if you hear a story about what's going on in other countries, then the next day, you pick up the paper, then you assume the story will be told from yesterdays point of view.
If we are not so easy to follow others then we are less likely to fall into the media story telling, and we can base our reasoning on the facts, not others opinions.
