Well Scott, I think you have a tiny hint of what you should do instead of watch the news every morning embedded in your comment.
"And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world this is"
is part of a Louis Armstrong song. Read a book, listen to music, draw... it is important to know what is going on, but our news channels usually are still playing some of the same news weeks later. Switch it up.
The best thing you can do for yourself and your children is to open every day with prayer and Bible study. Cover yourself with God's peace. When I open my days in prayer, it changes my day... I give my day over to God and line it up with Him from the get go and the Holy Spirit takes care of the rest.
Philippians 4:4-7 states:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Jesus' Peace and Love, Meorah
