The media pushes traditional u.s values such as ethnocentrism, altruistic democracy(I don't see that), responsible capitalism, small town pastoralism, individualism, moderatism, social order, and national leadership. Media bombards the public with images of the traditional cowboy and leads them to a system of values that honors brawn over brain and creates violent behavior. However, Males disagrees and says that violent and deviant behavior is more related to the real life conditions people are surounded by. This explains why populations in inner cities have higher rates of crime.
