Thompkins started out writing an essay based on many conflictual sources. She developed her essay extremely well with stories and the different accounts of the essays she studied. She made it seem like she was going to end it with something absolutely brilliant AND a cup of tea. But, in my opinion, she gave a cop-out ending. She gave the whole "Watch what you believe because you might not be able to even believe yourself" bunk. How disappointing to realize that life's problem still exist! I could even have come up with that one :) She seemed to have written a very defined essay then quickly ended it with circular reasoning. (Maybe she thought it was a tad boring too:) I was overall disappointed with Thompkins and her ending, as it didn't do what the rest of her essay seemed to claim.
