My grandfather always told me that it is the victors who write the history. It is most definitely true that the US has been quite victorious' as of late. Therefore we must be more careful than our predessors, to search out the truth in all instances of public and global importance.
Furthermore, we must root out the untruths which we have been fed, expose them and let them wither before the eyes of the world. The essay we read deals with how perspectives influence our perception of the truth, and how that effects the recording of history. It is important also to consider how the removing of perspectives or stepping outside of yourself can aide in your objectivity but it is near to impossible to erode all social conditioning and be completely objective. Therefore, all writers must be aware of their own manipulation of the truth, and write with rememberance of how truth has been muddled in the past. Even if we should lie and completely blacken the truth. truth will remain, maybe even more apparently so in light of the my lie.
