I don't think that the United States is a pure democracy. I don't think that anyone really does anymore. It is clearly evident that, "Big Business", and other major players in our society have more control over the government than "the people." There are certain aspects of our society that make it seem as if the United States is a democracy, but in an overall sense, I don't think that the United States should call itself a democracy. We only have 2 major political parties, and being the most diverse country in the world it is obvious that all of the people in the country cannot be represented by 2 parties that are supposed to represent us all.
