Instrumentalists view of power is that those who are wealthy rule. Those with money control political officials because of their large influence. Therefore, the government is working solely for the upper class, to satisfy and meet their needs and goals. The structuralist view of power, however, is much different from that of the instrumentalists. The government favors the upper class, much the same as before, however, this is due in part because of the capitalist society, not because they are directly linked and working together.
