how do we make sense of the idea of Jesus being divine and human?

Nestorianism:
Nestorias was a bishop of Antioch
*taught that Jesus had two natures one
human and one divine
*only the human nature was born,
suffered, was crucified, and died
*divided the two natures, but
acknowledged the human nature
*objected to Mary as the Mother of God
Docetism:
Jesus' humanity was an illusion; being man
is incompatible with being divine. Jesus
was cloaked in the illusion of human flesh
like an angel.
Monophysitism:
Jesus had one divine nature indwelling in
a human body. Jesus had no human soul. No
human nature, just human body. analogous
to clothing
Arianism:
Jesus was a created being. God the Father
created the Logos before the incarnation.
Jesus was the "Son of God" not "God, the
Son" They denied full divinity of Jesus.
Sabellianism:
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit
are three different manifestations of
Jesus. One God. O.T.-Father; N.T.-Son;
Church age- Holy Spirit
