Okay here it goes......

We talked about Whitherington's point of view. His view is that it is clear from the New Testament that the deciples believed in he literal physical reserection as evidenced by the clear meaning of the text and historical context in Judaism.
He doesn't think that a text can just simply mean what you want it to mean. He thinks that Crossen and the others that share this view point are doing just this.
The instructor than gives us to passages to look at in the bible that speak of the bodily reserection that Crossen and the others didn't address.
These passages are: Luke 24:36 and John 2:19 and especially 21&22.
There are 3 positions on the reserection.
1. Craig, Witherington, and Blomberg share that the physical reserection of Jesus did occur.
2. Miller, Crossen, and Borg believe the reserection to be purely a metaphor.
3. Early Christians believed in the reserection literally maybe Jesus predicted it but no such event occurred.
The instructor believes that the 3 and 1st views are possible but doesn't think that the second view holds much clout.

Another story is that the deciples stole the body of Jesus. If the view of Crossen and company is true than their would be no origin to the body stealing charge.
The counter argument by the deciples is that the guards were bribed by the Jewish leaders to start this story.
