Read Acts 2 chapters 9-11 and 15,22
Early Christians kept the Jewish law, Except Paul didn't believe this was necessary. More specifically it unnecessary for you to keep ritual and ceremonial law but good to keep the moral and spiritual law.
The Craig vs. Crossen Debate:

Craig: If Jesus was a liar or a lunatic then how can you trust the rest of his teachings?
-Beliefs Make sense.
-is this analogous to an expert situation or a personal character situation where a flawed individual had a good thing to say. An example of this being Martin Luther King.
Crossen: He (Jesus) didn't literally claim to be the son of God he taught in metaphors.
-Jesus spoke in the metaphors and didn't intend to be taken literally. Crossen compares them to Aesope's fables. He also equates the gospels to these too.
