Correspondence Theory of Truth

-"There's an objective world out there"

Tarski:"Snow is white"-- is true if and only if snow is white.

-"there are nine planets in our solar system"
-"Pluto is a planet"
-"Pluto is not made of ice"

A belief is true or not,whether it can be mapped out in reality.

truth is independent of our beliefs-"the sun is hot"

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Even if there is no observer,there's fact of the matter.

What is reality? (Are numbers real?)
(Are thoughts real?)

What is correspondence?

If truth corresponds to reality then knowledge entails truth.

If you say you know something,it implies that it's true.

Knowledge is roughly true,justified belief
justified-good reasons,evidence,or proof

truth and justification have to come together in the right way.

-"What is useful is true,and what's true is useful"

When considering belief- think of it's truth and how it fits into your life.

-"Truth is a 'cash value' of an idea(Practical Implications)

-"You should believe in God any ways,your life will be better and more fulfilled,whether there is a God or not.

-"You should call things true that are useful to you".
