Externalism
- Relliablism- beliefs are justified if they come about as a result of a reliable process
- Justification is a matter of objective states of affairs, which make your beliefs likely to be true, not your subjective state of mind

Internalism
- Foundationalism
- Coherentism
- “reflective access” to justifying reasons is necessary for justification
- Not enough for those to be good reasons for your beliefs- you must know what they are and be able to explain them.

Externalism criticism of internalism
- Internalisim could justify anything
- Too weak to call justification
- I.E.
o Belief in evil spirits
o White Supremacy
Inernalism- Responsibility and blame
- are you justified to believing
o Do you have a right to believe in X
- Justification is best graded on a curve
o Did you do your best to believe the truth
Foley Combo view- externalism with an internalist constraint.
- Reliable process
- Must know that the process is reliable
