Coherentism Continued

Benifits: Shortcut, use of other (hopefully)justified beleifs to analyze the future.

Problems: Dogmatism, Fixity of Beleif, Stereotypical Thinking, Predjudice, Bigotry, May Allow Non-rational associations, bad experiences etc., emotional scars to color judgement, Consistancy-Neccisary Condition, not sufficient.

A Middle Ground between the extremes of Coherentism isn't really possible.

Beleifs and Stereotypes will be jarred by human experience.

Perception Theories
Direct Realism-What you see is what you get (common sense idea)
Physics shows that it isn't really accurate.
Speed of Light does as well.
Our perceptions are extremely limited.

Representationalism-There are no objects but ideas in our mind. We don't neccesarily percieve something as it is. (Locke's View)

Phenominalism: "Real" objects don't exist! Only sense data exists. Words, in ordinary language refer to sense data, not an external world.
