Foundationalism:
A belief is justified if it can be derived from a special class of self justifying beliefs.
Regress problem - where does justification stop?
Pojman: requires an actually infinite set of beliefs to be justified.
Maybe it is only necessary to be able to proceed with justification to infinity, we stop where it's practical.
Four ways of justification:
1. Infinity->->->C->B->A
(In order to have a belief(A)you need justification(B)and justification for B(C)and justification for C, ect)
2. B->A
(B is unjustified, but justifies A)
3. Circle justification

( foundation belief, properly basic)
Classical Foundationalism:
Properly basic belief are infallible, incorrigible,undoubtable and self evident.
Rationalists: Logic and mathematics
Empiricists: Above plus things that are evident to the senses.
A basic belief: something that is not based on any other belief.
Ex. 2+2=4
Properly basic: justifiably not based on any other belief.
Ex. Mathematics and Logic
Falliblism- View of moderate foundationalism:complex logical and mathematical truths and things evident to the senses can turn out to be false.
Ex. Cold mistaken for heat
