It involves getting a true justified belief from a false justified beleif.

There is some disagreement in using the tripartite analysis of knowledge due to this.

Proposed candidates for 4th Criteria:
1. No false beleifs allowed...Doesn't work.
2. Conclusive reasons (If p wasn't true, you wouldn't be able to justify it.)...Doesn't work.
3. Casual Condition (Beleif must be caused in the right way or by the fact it represents.)...Doesn't work.
4. Defeasability (If no other truth exists to destroy justification if believed, p is justified)...Again, doesn't work.

Can Gettier's problem be solved? Most likely not conclusively.

Pojman Suggests that the 4th condition be that the truth and its justification be related in the right way by any number of the four candidates. This places the matter on the intuitive level, and points out that the real problem are the nitpickers!
