Regardless of what type of society we'd prefer to live in, we have a capitalist dominated system to contend with. Changing the powerful structure may not be possible, but give it time. With only a drop of water at a time, the rock will eventually crack. The increased discontent resulting from this greed-driven and intolerant "way of life" will soon give way to a new society currently in action(religion is later in the term)
The isolation we feel at work, school, and even the polarization experienced at home is a result of individualized protectionism. After a hard day at work, most don't think twice about the current state of affairs.
