I'd rather have Ben Affleck than George W. Bush in many ways. I don't really support the Bush dynasty, their new world order, and globilization (all the human rights and labor laws that were fought for and gained are going down the tubes thanks to globilization). Big business can now sue mayors, individuals, other corporations, if they try to save wetlands or pressue big companies to reveal their chemical usage or other sanctions or taxes saying that the person trying to save the wetlands etc. is blocking free trade laws and needs to be sued, gotten out of the way so big polluting industry can run their plants wherever they like, whenever they like, however they like! For more specifics I'm sure many in the Sociology department and even some in the Economics department could explain things well, in more detail. Our jobs are going overseas, our unions have all but evaporated, our government is trying to occupy and gain control of the middle east and gain control of the oil there, it seems to me, after all this has been our governments pattern in South America and Yugoslavia. The Bush dynasty has many oil friends in Texas. We're talking trillions of dollars. I don't think the Bush dynasty as I call it is going to generate a government where every American's basic needs are met and is focused on the true good of the people. I don't know how competent Bush and his possy is and how much is just a show? I do think that Rumsfeld (sp?) talks a good talk sometimes. I actually like Rumsfeld the best of them all so far, yet I'm not sure why exactly, probably because he's the most convincing and reassuring. I'm all for good progress with our Bush Dynasty. I'll see what happens, I guess. It's increasingly more difficult for any independent party to be president. After Ross Pero tried, some new law was put in place which makes it virtually impossible for an independent party to win. I'd like to see an independent party in office. The democratic party and the republic party seem to have become two sides of the same corrupt coin governed themselves by the interests of big business. I think I tend to lean toward the democratic party more often, for what it's worth. I voted for Nader last presidential election. I don't think Nader would have just been there for entertainment value, like maybe Clinton was moreso. I think Nader is well qualified in many ways. I don't really know how Gore would have done, but his ship was sort of sunk before it left the dock, because of Clinton. Who really knows what treachery Gore or any of them for this matter are really involved in. It's like the president is a pawn, and if he plays the game he stays and if not he goes. I wouldn't want the job. I feel for the president in some ways, he has a tough job. I'd like to have a "green" utopian type of society/government, but I don't know how feasible it is in today's world, with all our technology, need for defense, and all the warring. I think it's good to question any government though, keep them honest as possible, accountable, and positively progressive. I also think it's important to have respect for the government & humanity, faith in good; in God, hope for the future etc. Ben Affleck for president might be interesting though. Maybe more celebrities will get in the political game. After all, they do have the money. I think Arnold Schwarznegger is running for some office in Cali.
