Fact and opinion are two very different things. A fact is a statement which has been proven to be true. On the other hand an opinion is something someone feels is right for themselves. The difference between fact and opinion lies in the person with the opinion. What I mean by this is that, someone's opinion can be factual, or not. Say, for instance, that I believe the titanic sank because the Japanese bombed it. I can have this opinion and belive it to be true, but I have no evidence or backup to support my opinion. This is why it is an opinion, not a fact. On the other hand, it is fact that the Titanic hit an iceberg because there is scientific evidence to backup that conclusion.
