I started out in school as a business major and we had a few discussions in my business classes about the "glass ceiling". The glass ceiling is the term used to describe how women can only go so far in a business and that her upward mobility is cut off at a certain point, even if she is qualified and capable. This happens because of gender roles. The women is supposed to be submissive and the male the dominate. So if a women becomes the ceo what kind of image will that convey? It has been said that men will have a hard time being in a submissive role a women and this could cause conflict in the work place. I have had a women boss and I hated it. I felt that who the hell does this lady think she is bossing me around like this. I quite the job, because it was humiliating taking orders from a woman. The glass ceiling is very real in big time business and there have been many discrimination lawsuits over it.
