By saying the hallway hangers are "communitarian" basically is saying that they stick together. they help one another out.

crappily enough, this creates an annoying paradox. You have these kids trying to be there for each other (which is obviously good), but it screws up their aspirations because they can get put in jail for it, which sequentially will screw up their life chances.

It's like here we have this group of people who are basically against work, against staying out of trouble, and yet, they still want their parents out of the projects.

Maybe they should take on a different perspective on Communitarianism. We should all stick up for each other, but to a certain extent.
