Who are the Hallway hangers and The Brothers? They are two separate groups that live in Clarondon Hills which is a public housing area in the projects. A place where very low income families go to live. A place where the living conditions are sub par to the average middle class living conditions.

The Hallway hangers are a white minority that hang out in the hallways for the most part and hang out in hallway #13. They are consider the troublemakers to the teachers and society in general. They have low expectations for their future, so they give up or drop of school. They are very intelligent, but they lack self confidence and the proper education that they should get. The teachers neglect them and figure that they are a lost cause. Moreover, the teachers give the other students more attention because they are more cooperative and attentive to the rules and regulations of the schools misguided ways.

The Brothers are also a minority in the Clarodon Hills area. They consist of all black members in their group with the exception of one white male. Their outlook on their future is completely the opposite of the Hallway Hangers. They believe that if you follow the rules, work hard, that you will get a good job and make it in these world. There is much aniomisty between the two groups. The Hallway hangers feel very threatened by the brothers, which in turn, leads to violence and even death.

I personally identify with the brothers mentality. I have a very positive outlook on my future and my life in general just like the brothers. The difference between myself and the brothers is that I never lived in the projects, but I am not rich by any means. I am just above the poverty level. According to the government, but that is entirely different story.
