I agree with the above post by David, that welfare needs to be increased. Some employees receive cost of living raises to keep up with inflation, why aren't welfare recipients being given the same adjustments? Regarding keeping people, especially women, away from drugs/crime/prostitution, well this is just way easier said than done. I give no excuse for this, but somehow these people decided there was no other way to make it.

What I want to know, is where are the fathers in this picture? Are women going after fathers for child support? Are the fathers paying it or skipping out? Is the government actively enforcing (whenever possible) the payment of child support by fathers? It is unfair that mothers are judged for being on welfare when they are forced to raise the children on their own when the father decides to skip out. Yet the father is somewhere working "under the table" so that his wages won't get garnished to support the children he helped to create.

It is painstakingly clear that to live the
American Dream takes two incomes.
