I agree with the authors of this particular article about how women strive to survive on welfare. There is lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings about the people on welfare, especially the woman who are supporting children on their own. This misconception in our society that the people on welfare are lazy and supposedly are conceiving more babies in order to get more money. That is furtherest from the truth. The majority of woman on welfare are struggling to get by and must find other ways to make more money. Which in most cases, is done under the table so the people on welfare won't lose their best source of income. Some women sell drugs, sex, and stolen goods in order to make ends meet. In my opinion, decreasing welfare is definitely not the answer to this persist problem. Instead lets increase the benefits of welfare and keep the people, especially the woman, away from the drugs, the prostitution, and the selling of stolen goods. That way we can cut the crime and help people who really need the money and support.
