The simple fact of life is that life is unfair. Only the rich have things handed to them so everyone else has to rise up above all their troubles and everything else that is keeping them down to move up.
I know the poor have it especially hard.
As for my "so and so did it" attitude, I think I'm one of those "so and so." No one gave me a silver spoon to rise up out of a trailer park in rural Alabama. I went to a school that had 60% of the class as black and many of them got out. I had to join the navy to get out and so what?
Everyone from my hometown had the same opportunities as me.
I do not deny that there is a reserve army of labor and that having to move for a job is horrible. Life is hard, complaining about it or expecting help does nothing.
Lawmakers and the rich care only about themselves. They will not help, that is why people have to do it themselves.
