To be honest with you both, I think that
Sociologists do their job, to analyze and
they do a wonderful job of it. If not for their
studies America would believe the media
about everything (Oh wait, they do
anyways). From Soc work I know that I
am having smoke blown in my face when
the media wants me to lower amounts
given to welfare programs because of
welfare mooches, when the majority of
them are not by stats. In a nation where
everyone wants to be the same, not many
people want to rock the boat, but the
sociologists are there for those that really
want the truth, instead of a sailing trip that
goes in circles.

I think that you have the answer to the
problem Amrita.... it is looking at you in
the mirror. Those that fought for our
rights to vote and organize did so
because our country does not change
injustices unless its people rise up and
demand it. It is up to us to rise up and
make the changes. The sociologists give
us the knowledge to put the American
poster child down, look at the reality and
decide whether it is important enough or
not for us to do something about what we
really see.
