You know, the sad thing is that 6 months later when we were eligible to receive SS benefits (6 month waiting period), they gave us $46 over the amount that let us be eligible for medical coverage, so instead we had to pay $400 a month to keep the insurance he had through his work on COBRA. Now that he has died, we get over $600 a month more in SS for 3 of us then we did for the 4 of us when he was alive and now being a single parent, still don't qualify for any medical and because the medical was through his job, the kids and I now have no coverage. What is wrong with this society and the way it works???????
